ISLAMABAD: Over 140 applicants have so far recorded selection papers for the coming Senate races, as indicated by the points of interest discharged by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday.
The races for 52 seats from the four regions, the government capital and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas are to be hung on March 3. Feb 8 was the last date for documenting designation papers for the seats from the territories.
A sum of 52 representatives in the place of 104 will resign on March 11 after culmination of their six-year term.
As per the ECP, 34 designation frames have been submitted from Punjab, of which 21 were for general seats, five for held seats for ladies, five for technocrat seats, and three for saved seats for minorities.
